U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker today released the following statement on the December jobs report which showed that U.S. employment rose by 252,000 last month.
“The December employment report caps off the best year for the job market since the recession began eight years ago, proving that the Administration’s policies to get the economy back on track are working,” said Secretary Pritzker. “We ended 2014 on a high note, and we have great momentum going into 2015 across all sectors of our economy, from manufacturing to exports to health care.
We have more work to do to spur job creation, lift incomes, and create sustainable growth. President Obama and this Administration are committed to taking action on critical issues like trade and investment, workforce development, infrastructure, and business tax reform, all of which will strengthen the American economy.”
